Data Collection Device for Use in Roller Skates, Scooters, and Skateboards

2025 05/18

In the field of leisure sports, roller skates, scooters, and skateboards have long been beloved by the public, offering both entertainment and opportunities for physical exercise. However, traditional sports equipment of these types has limitations in data collection. Modern sports devices, by contrast, often incorporate relevant equipment to quantitatively analyze human movement data, providing feedback or regulatory functions. Therefore, the present utility model aims to improve this situation by providing a data collection device, which is applied to riding supplies such as ice skates, scooters and skateboards.
Light Up Skateboard Wheel

This data collection device is mainly composed of an installation base and a wheel body. The wheel body is rotatably mounted on the installation base, similar to how wheels are commonly installed on a vehicle frame. Its distinct feature is that the installation base is equipped with a magnetic sensor, while a corresponding magnetic body is installed on the wheel body. As the wheel body rotates, the magnetic body moves in tandem; each time the magnetic body approaches the magnetic sensor, the sensor captures a signal. By analyzing these signals, the rotational speed and number of revolutions of the wheel body can be easily determined, allowing for the collection of motion-related data that provides strong support for subsequent movement analysis.

● To present data more intuitively, the magnetic sensor can also be connected to a display component, with connection methods including wired or wireless options. The specific design for connecting the control module and communication device includes components such as a control unit, wireless communication unit, or wired communication unit.

● The structural design of the device incorporates thoughtful details. It is equipped with a retaining ring, on which the magnetic sensor is mounted. The retaining ring has retaining edges on both sides, which align with corresponding retaining slots on the installation base; alternatively, the retaining ring may have slots and the base may have edges. This interlocking design of slots and edges allows the magnetic sensor and retaining ring to be easily installed on the installation base, significantly improving assembly convenience.

● The wheel body features a unique design: it includes a hub with an assembly groove where the magnetic body is securely embedded. Both the assembly groove and the corresponding magnetic sensor are positioned on the inner side of the hub. This layout protects the magnetic body and sensor from scratches during use, effectively preventing detachment and ensuring the device’s stability and reliability.

This data collection device is perfectly compatible with roller skates, scooters, and skateboards. In these three types of sports equipment, the installation base serves as a wheel frame to mount the wheel body. As the scooter wheel, wheels for skates,Skatebaord wheels body rotates, the interaction between the magnetic body and the magnetic sensor generates signals, enabling data collection. The collected data is transmitted to a display component, which can take various forms—handheld, wearable, or mounted on the handlebars of scooters—allowing users to easily view their motion data.

The beneficial aspect of this utility model lies in that the rotation of the wheel body drives the movement of the magnetic body, and the magnetic sensor captures signals to achieve data collection. The device can be integrated into roller skates, scooters, and skateboards to meet the need for data collection during exercise, providing users with a convenient and effective solution for collecting exercise data. This helps enhance the sport experience and training effectiveness.
