A Waterwheel-type Power Generation and Lighting Device

With the improvement of quality of life, people often place ornaments such as fish tanks in living rooms and office spaces to decorate the environment. Such ornaments need to be both decorative and ornamental. For example, small-scale ecosystems are formed by combining LED lights with flower arrangements and fish tanks. However, in existing technologies, the light source components need to be externally powered through power cords, which limits the use of the device, making it impossible to flexibly move it to areas far from power sources. Additionally, power cords affect the aesthetics, lead to complex wiring, and are inconvenient to adjust. To solve the limitation of "external power supply," this patent proposes a self-generating lighting device that uses mechanical structures and the principle of electromagnetic induction for autonomous power supply, eliminating dependence on power cords and meeting users' needs for flexible movement and convenient use of ornaments.

 

Detailed Structural Features

1)  Water Wheel Structure The water wheel consists of a first frame and a second frame that are combined left and right. An installation position is provided in the middle for fixing the winding component. The water flow pushing parts are evenly arranged along the circular edge of the frames, and when the two frames are combined, the water flow pushing parts are arranged at intervals, resulting in a uniform and compact structure. The frames are also equipped with groove positions for positioning the light-emitting lamps, facilitating their fixation.

2)  Water Flow Pushing Parts Shaped like plates, the water flow pushing parts form water injection areas between adjacent parts. When water flows into the water injection areas, it pushes the water wheel to rotate.

3)  Winding Component : Comprising a coil and a circuit board, the winding component is electrically connected to the light-emitting lamps via the circuit board. The winding component is encapsulated with a sealing glue layer to provide waterproofing and protect internal components.

4)  Bracket and Central Shaft : The bottom of the bracket is provided with connection holes, through which the device can be fixed with screws. The end of the central shaft is square-shaped, matching the square holes on the bracket to ensure the central shaft remains fixed and does not rotate.

5)  Material Selection  The water wheel is made of light-transmitting materials such as PP, PVC, PC, or PS. When the light from the light-emitting lamps shines on the water wheel, it produces a light-transmitting effect, enhancing the ornamental value.

Working Principle

When water flows against the water-pushing components on the edge of the water wheel, the water wheel starts to rotate.  As the water wheel spins, the relative motion occurs between the winding components and magnetic parts in the generator core installed at the connection point of the water wheel and the central shaft.  The coils cut the magnetic field lines in the magnetic field, generating induced current.  This current is transmitted to the light-emitting lamp through the circuit board, causing the lamp to light up and emit a soft and beautiful glow.  Meanwhile, since the water wheel is made of light-transmitting material, light can pass through it, creating a unique visual effect and further enhancing the ornamental value of the device.
